Last week the Salvation Army carolers came to Samagama and sang carols, told the real meaning of Christmas, and were joined by a jolly fat man in a red suit who gave gifts to all the children and candy to the parents! Three of our village young girls were chosen to play the roles of Mary and the two angels. We decorated our store bought tree with handmade decorations made by the kids. They have never enjoyed this tradition, but it is one we will certainly repeat and they are more than eager to help us make our home look like Christmas, even though it's in the 80's here!
